"Tifanny" Boxes

While I've been traveling the last couple of weeks I've been busy making presents.  When I was searching for a way to package them up I found some blue cardstock in one of my file drawers at my parents house.  Usually I use 12 x 12 paper for boxes and this cardstock was just 8 1/2 x 11 but they ended up being the perfect size.  I used the extra I cut off for mini tags and just handwrote them as you can see.  Unfortunately the lighting wasn't great for this picture but I promise that they are the prettiest shade of Tiffany Blue.  Leaving these behind to be passed out at my family's Mother's Day party in CA next weekend.

dishrags

Many people on my gift giving list received crocheted dishrags this year.  I made them all year from lots of different colors of 100% cotton yarn.  Once you start using these for doing your dishes you won't want to use regular dish rags ever again.  I started making granny squares so that they stay square after you wash them.
Folded they fit so nicely in the origami boxes I make.  It makes "wrapping" them easy.  This is a good present that can be given every year since they can be used constantly and could wear out so your recipients might need more every year.  I'm working on the instructions to put on the blog.

Custom Orders

A couple custom orders I did a month or so ago and realized I hadn’t blogged about.IMG_4426

Custom order soda can cozy.  It’s actually blue but I didn’t have very good lighting in the picture.  Complete with a matching origami gift box.IMG_4427 My friend also wanted a soda pop cozy.  This one is green.  It’s just a bit taller than the soda can cozy.  I love doing custom orders for good friends!

Homemade for the Holidays

Since I've been on an origami box fetish this year I decided to make a ton of them and fill them with Christmas presents. I made dozens of boxes and filled them with flower hair clips, crocheted dishcloths, crocheted can cozies, magnets, cotton rounds and more. It's been fun and has taken countless hours. Not sure if I'll ever be this ambitious again to make so many presents for so many people but I hope everyone enjoyed their gifts and will put them to good use.

Newborn Booties

I crocheted some booties from 2 strands of baby yarn and they turned out newborn size. Perfect for baby blessings. They come wrapped in tissue and gift boxed.

Tithing Boxes

So Saturday we went to Josh's Cousin's Son's baptism. I was trying to figure out what we could give him to help celebrate his special day and with a little help from a friend I thought of making a tithing box. I already had a box made so I just made a label for the top and a CTR card to go along with it. Also included a red pencil for marking his favorite scriptures.
Then I made another set for my cousin's son who is turning 8 tomorrow and will be baptized in a couple of weeks.
Happy Birthday Boys! It's great to be 8!

Embroidered Handkerchiefs

Printed or cursive? Initials or first name?
My new sewing machine does embroidery. I think they would make fabulous Father's Day presents.

I'm going to package them up in Origami gift boxes. The handkerchiefs fit in them perfectly.
