Yet another project I did a couple months ago that I never included on the blog. This sign matches the "simplify" sign that was previously posted. One day I will get around to actually making new projects. I did clear off the kitchen counter/island today and dug out the cutting matt and rotary cutter today. I got a couple pieces of flannel cut and then my husband came home for lunch and then I ended up spending the afternoon at work with him so the fabric is still sitting on the counter and hopefully I'll get to it tomorrow. Our laptops had been on the kitchen counter but I moved them into the office/craft room which is technically the formal front room but who needs one of those really. Actually the room that's supposed to be the formal dining room has the formal front room furniture in it and even though I'm in that room now it's pretty much never used except when my mother in law has her visiting teachers meet her here so there you go.
I am pretty excited about a sign that we made today at work today. My husband has been working for the last month in a wood shop and they have all these amazing machines that they can do so much with and they are actually going to make some things that I suggest so I think that's very cool. I'll probably go over there tomorrow and work on some things and hopefully I'll have something to share tomorrow night. I'm also going to be doing some office work for them including bookkeeping, website maintenance, running the facebook fan page, etc... so I'm looking forward to all of that.

While the cat's away...
the mice will play... So, the last couple of months I've had a lot of fun playing with my friend's cricut. We borrowed a couple of cartridges from another friend and this is what I made one day to the delight of Jocie - my favorite kindergartner that I recently babysat. I wouldn't normally apply vinyl lettering to doors and walls in other people's houses but I'm pretty sure my friend would be ok with it and luckily she was. Of course now I can't remember what the names of the cartridges were. The font was one cartridge and the butterflies were on another. The butterfly cartridge had so many amazing things on it. I would've liked to have made more with it. You could get more elaborate with them but I just did two layers and think they turned out great.

"Simplify" vinyl sign
Ironically this was anything but simple. Guess that's why I need a sign that says "simplify" to help me keep things simple. The word ended up being too long to fit onto the board so I placed the "P" on top of the "M" and overlapped the "f" and "y". Ended up turning out really cute but took a bit of maneuvering to make it happen. Also I had already put a hanger on the back and of course put the lettering on upside down so I had to take off the hanger and reattach it to the other side. Ugh! I have another board {Note: they are actually drawer fronts found in the "as is" section of IKEA. Love that place} this same size but am indecisive about what word to put on it. Any suggestions?

Magnet Boards
These are the brain child of my friend's but I did some of the work on them. We made some for Christmas presents and gave them away and are going to make more at next week's Relief Society Meeting. I did the vinyl for the FHE chart today. Going to give it to my cousin for her upcoming birthday. (The kids' tags are turned over for privacy) They are a great gift and are pretty easy to make.
My friend has them for sale in her etsy shop.

Drinking Glasses
We got these awesome insulated drinking cups for Christmas and since I'm obsessed with lime green lately I snagged that one for myself. Just to make things clear I labeled them with vinyl today just so it's clear whose cup belongs to who. Since I'll be handwashing these cups I think the vinyl will stick. We'll see...

Custom Order - Vinyl "Family Faith Friends Fun" Sign
Did this custom order today and I just love how it turned out. So cute! Decided to add flowers to the corners to take up some extra space and I think it looks great. A 5 x 7 picture an fit in the center rectangle. It's going to look great on my friend's wall.

Will babysit for vinyl!
I did some extra babysitting a month or so ago for some vinyl. After making several similar boards for others I wanted one for me. I finally took the time today to put this together. I think it would look great on an easel in the corner between the two couches. Hmmmm....

Meant to be...
I realized that this vinyl lettering that I had fit perfectly on this board. Also, that there was a hole in the stucco next to the front door where a nail had been. I found a screw that perfectly fit into the hole and tightened it in place, adhered the vinyl to the board and attached a sawtooth hanger on the back of the board and hung it by the front door. Voila! I love it when a project comes together!

Vinyl Ornaments
These are a couple of the projects we made. I got these ornaments from Hobby Lobby on clearance after Christmas and when I saw them I knew these are the words I wanted on them. So even though they are out of season I don't mind. I'm just happy to have some vinyl on them. I fell in love with this font so I used it for all the projects I did.
Instead of buying cartridges she has a program on her laptop that she uses to design her projects. It was great fun. I can't wait to get together with her again and make some more stuff. I have lots of surfaces to put vinyl on I just need to be organized enough to know what I want to put on each item so I can make them.

Custom Vinyl Plaques & Frame
The bottom frame is from my stash of tole painting wood from my Provo Craft days. Although it looks like it's painted really fancy I actually just mod podged a piece of paper on it.
I love how these projects turned out and can't wait to make more.

Keith & Rachael Millett
It looked great on their sign in table. The frame on the right she received at her bridal shower.
My brother got married on Friday and this is the present I gave them. I was helping set up Friday afternoon and noticed they were putting up some pictures by the guest book in the lobby and thought they might want to add this to the diplay so I went out to the car and got it and let them open it. They really loved it and it was a nice addition to the table. Rachael really loves black frames. I was so lucky to find this cabinet door in the "as is" section at IKEA. Thanks to my friend Jen for generously cutting the vinyl for me. I was so nervous to apply it since this is the biggest vinyl project I've done to date. I'm so happy with how it turned out. I hope to make one for me soon. Plus I keep getting requests for more so I'll be going to IKEA again soon and hopefully will find some more cabinet doors that will work for this project.
