I can't believe it's been a month since my last blog post. Well I guess I can. I haven't felt all that motivated in the crafting dept. or in anything else for that matter but I have a great excuse! I'm 12 1/2 weeks pregnant. We heard the baby's heartbeat yesterday and it was so exciting and such a huge relief. I've had a couple of miscarriages so we wanted to wait a bit before we told everyone. So I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of baby crafting in the next 6 months before the baby arrives. Now I just have to wait patiently until I find out if it's a girl or a boy! For now, I'll just keep collecting ideas and trying to finish up as much ongoing projects as possible.
A couple weeks ago I came across this amazing blog with some great patterns on it. I have to admit that there are tons of cute amiguri patterns out there but normally I don't have the desire to try them. I'm not a big fan of crocheting a bunch of pieces, stuffing them and then sewing them together. The closest I ever came to this was the gnome I crocheted a couple Christmases ago which is so cute and I love it but it's not something I would make all the time. But obviously I had to attempt it when I found this pattern for this adorable unicorn from Despicable Me! I was instantly in love and couldn't wait to crochet it and absolutely love it and am tempted to carry it around with me everywhere I go.
When I showed it to my mom via skype she said it wasn't safe for a baby with the sew on eyes. I told her it's not for the baby - it's for me. I started on another one of her patterns for a minion but I haven't finished it yet. Guess I'd better get back to it since my hubby wants it.
I have a couple more finished projects to blog about so hopefully get a chance to post again tomorrow.
