Crocheted Pacifier Clip

I'd bought some clips many months ago intending to make a couple of binky clips with ribbon for my little guy but then he outgrew his need for the binky before I made them.  I kept them handy so I could make a couple of binky clips for my new baby after she arrived.  A friend started making crocheted binky clips so inspired by her I crocheted this up today.  I really like how it turned out and it just used a scrap of yarn I had leftover from crocheting some dish rags.  So cute!  Now  I just need to find another scrap of yarn to make another one to match her other binky!

Graduation Gifts

Whipped up a couple of these for some girls that are graduating from high school tomorrow.  I made them in the school colors of the colleges they will be attending.  Included some highlighters and wrote "Hope college will be the highlight of your life!"  Cheesy I know!  Hope they will come in handy for corralling pencils and pens on their desks.  College students still use primitive writing instruments right?

These would also make great end of the year teacher appreciation presents.  If you would like some let me know!

Another Hat and Earwarmer Headband

I just added a flower to this hat that I crocheted last week.  I love this color combination.  It's actually my best seller.  $20
Why oh why do my pictures get rotated funky?  Grey headband earwarmer.  Super soft and warm.  $15

Custom Order Baby Booties and Headband

A couple of weeks ago a friend contacted me and asked me to make a pair of booties for her month old baby girl.  She sent me a picture of what she had in mind and this is what I came up with.  I'd never crocheted a rolled rose before so that was fun to figure out.  Also came up with a new pattern for a little leaf.       I decided to make a matching headband as well.  They turned out so adorable that I made another set so if you are going to a baby shower and need a gift let me know.  The set is $20 and comes wrapped in a gift box.  So cute!

Baby Blessing Booties and Headbands

My friend ordered two sets of baby blessing booties and headbands for her friend who is just about to have twin girls.  What a fun gift!
 Close up of one set
Made some origami boxes to package them in so they'd be ready for gift giving.

Why the dishes aren't done...

1 x 8 board about 12" long
1 x 6 boards cut 11' long
I love this quote by President Eyring.  Shortly after I first heard it, a favorite blogger of mine did this amazing printable of it and I knew I wanted to make something with it.  Walgreens had an offer for a free 8 x 10 so I used gimp to put two 5 x 7s together and then added a stripe to the top and bottom to make the print the right size.  I used a couple of boards we had on hand and had my husband cut some 1 x 6 boards about 11" long for the rest.  For a long time I debated about how to adhere the picture to the board and then another favorite blogger suggested using wood glue to do a similar project.  (I didn't want to mess with using mod podge).  I tried it and it worked great.  Then I had the dilemma of adding some sort of decorative element.  I debated between ribbon or a rosette or a cabochon  but could never find anything that was a good enough match.  Finally I thought of raffia so I used that.  Is that too 90s?  I did a lot of tole painting projects in the 90s that involved raffia so maybe my obsession with raffia is leftover from that.  Whatever the case that's what I used.  I made 6 total and have been using them for birthday presents and plan on keeping one for myself.  If you see this post and then later get one from me please act surprised and happy that you got one!  The recipients so far have enjoyed them so hopefully they all won't end up in garage sales or at goodwill.  haha!

Ear Warmer Headbands

Had a friend request a grey ear warmer headband so I made one and then came across this blue/green variegated yarn so I made one in those colors as well.  It'd been a while since I'd made one so I had to reinvent the wheel and figure it out.  I guess I should write down the patterns I make up so I can easily make one again.
