I can't stop!

made another vinyl sign. The phrase was actually much longe than would fit on this board but I love how it turned out don't you?

FAMILY - where your story begins

Just made this board. The middle panel would be great for displaying a trimmed 8 x 10 photo.

roses added

Something was missing from these when I was putting price tags on them this morning so I added roses to them. Much better!

Four Fs Picture Frame

I finally applied the vinyl to this cabinet door lastnight. I was holding off for a bit because I was contemplating painting the board first but I decided that it was fine the way it was. The recessed area in the middle is 5 1/2 x 6 3/4 so I figure it would be perfect for a picture frame.
You can use it horizontally or vertically and choose whatever word you want across the top.

Meant to be...

I realized that this vinyl lettering that I had fit perfectly on this board. Also, that there was a hole in the stucco next to the front door where a nail had been. I found a screw that perfectly fit into the hole and tightened it in place, adhered the vinyl to the board and attached a sawtooth hanger on the back of the board and hung it by the front door. Voila! I love it when a project comes together!

New & Improved!

The last couple of days I've been focusing more on cleaning rather than crafting as I have some houseguests coming this weekend. I came across the last bit of this fabric on the kitchen table and didn't want to throw it away so I twisted it up into a rosette and attached it to the front of this little holder that I crocheted a while back. I think it's much improved. I guess that's what I'm into lately - adding flowers to previously completed projects to make them better. Here's a close up of the crazy rosette. since both sides of the fabric show on the crocheted container I wasn't too worried about both sides of the fabric showing in the rosette. It's a great project for the week of earth day as well since I've been upcycling a lot lately.

Crocheted Chapstick Cover Keyrings

I had a bunch of brand new chapsticks so I crocheted covers
for them by modifying a pattern I found online. They were functional but a bit boring so I decided to dress them up a bit.
Here I added a decorative daisy and mini metal keyring to each one.
Much better don't ya think?

Earring orders

I've had two earring orders so far. I had some of these jewelry boxes on hand so I decorated them up with some punch art. Quick, easy & cute!

Fabric Roses Wrist Corsages

I made six more roses this morning so here are the 20 bracelets I have made so far. Individual pictures are posted on facebook. They can be worn separately but it's fun to wear several together. They are $5 each. Each bracelet is completely handmade. I strung all the beads and hand sewed the flowers. The bracelets are all elastic except for the wrap bracelet so they are all adjustable. If you would like any specific measurements for the bracelets let me know. They are all so beautiful they will be hard to part with!

Update 4/15 evening: Added another picture so now there are 25!
Update 4/16: And then there were 30!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right?

Here's a preview of what I've been working on today - wrist corsages for Mother's Day. My friend Jen of Mary Poppins Presents started making these and here I am copying her. I stopped by her house tonight and this is what she saw when she opened the door. I'll have to take individual pictures later. Underneath the fabric roses there are cute, coordinating bracelets. So fun!

Daisy Earrings

I'd been wanting to make crocheted flower earrings for quite a while now and I finally got aruond to trying it this past week. These are the first pair I made. Each flower measures about 1 1/4" across. I really like how they turned out.
Yesterday I made a few more pairs in a variety of colors.

crocheted fabric pot

It'd been a while since I'd crocheted with fabric and I was having so much fun making these little containers out of tshirts that I thought I'd make one from fabric. I found this random yard of fabric that I had no plans for so I ripped it into 1" strips and started crocheting away. I have to say though that I prefer crocheting tshirts over fabric. Tshirts are generally the same color on both sides so you don't have to worry about keeping your strip of fabric going the right direction. As you can see here the white backside of the fabric often ended up on top. I guess it's ok to have the contrast but I think the solid knit looks better. If I crochet with fabric again maybe I'd better stick with a lighter print so when the back of the fabric ends up showing the contrast isn't as stark.

DAMIAN name plaque

So when we cut out the vinyl for the name frame there was room for two names. Secretly I was hoping for two vinyl names so I'm so glad it worked out. I had a scrap piece of 1x4 I wanted to make into a name sign since there was a bit of paper left over from the frame that would fit it perfectly. One edge of the board was very crooked but after several minutes with the sander I got it straight enough. Since I had a better idea of what I was doing I painted the entire board black first, then I mod podged on the scrapbook paper. Then I applied the vinyl lettering and then I added a top coat. It is completely nerve wracking working with paper as it wrinkles up something terrible everytime you add a layer but eventually it smooths back out. I really like how this turned out. I think I'll be making a couple more soon.

Vinyl Ornaments

For many months now I have been itching to get my hands on a cricut and see what they are all about. Finally yesterday one of my friends came over and brought hers. It was so much fun. I'm sure if I had one I would use it all the day long.
These are a couple of the projects we made. I got these ornaments from Hobby Lobby on clearance after Christmas and when I saw them I knew these are the words I wanted on them. So even though they are out of season I don't mind. I'm just happy to have some vinyl on them. I fell in love with this font so I used it for all the projects I did.
Instead of buying cartridges she has a program on her laptop that she uses to design her projects. It was great fun. I can't wait to get together with her again and make some more stuff. I have lots of surfaces to put vinyl on I just need to be organized enough to know what I want to put on each item so I can make them.

Grand Opening!

Today I had fun painting outside the lines getting "Suite 3" ready to open for business tomorrow. My friend will use it as her design studio during the week and it will be open as an exclusive boutique on Saturdays only. I'll be there tomorrow to help get things rolling. If you are in the Phoenix area I hope you will take the opportunity to stop by and check it out. It is in Mesa near University & Country Club. Click here to check out pics and for the exact address.

Better!

I actually made these quite awhile ago but today I saw them just sitting there and I decided they needed daisies so I crocheted a couple and sewed them on. I think they look much better. Check out the original post to see what they looked like before. They can be used as gift card holders, little wallets, business card holders, etc...
